An effigy of maimonides against a background of passage from the halacha "money lender & borrower" from the original manuscript of "mishneh torah", chapter 27 with handwriting & signature of maimonides.
Caption on left edge in hebrew "maimonides rabbi moshe ben maimon. 1138 - 1204". Numeral "1000" in upper left & lower right corners lower left corner. In hebrew "bank of israel" & "one thousend sheqalim". Center top the signatures in hebrew. "moshe mandelbaum. Governor of the bank of israel" & "abraham yosef shapira chairman of the advisory council". The date "1983" & its hebrew equivalent "5743" below the passage. A triangle lower right - a sign for the blind. A triangle on the left. Help up to the light forms a "star of david".
